US cardiologist Dr. Pradip Jamnadas warns that sugary drinks affect the liver much like alcohol, leading to fatty liver, obesity, and diabetes. Even moderate sugar intake can silently harm metabolic health. Research from the University of California, Irvine shows that dietary fiber like inulin, found in onions, garlic, and artichokes, helps gut microbes neutralize sugar before it damages the liver. Reducing sugar and increasing fiber can protect liver and overall health.
