Ex-Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal's AI Search Startup Raises $100 Million

AI startup Parallel Web Systems, founded by former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, has raised $100 million to build web search infrastructure for artificial intelligence agents and fund deals with online content owners, Agrawal said in an interview.
Developed in collaboration with Somaiya Vidyavihar University’s incubator, RiiDL, the programme bridges the gap between academia and the startup world. It enables students to assess, value, and recommend real startups for potential investment consideration offering them an immersive experience that goes beyond traditional classroom learning.
The Finance Ministry also launched the Startup Common Application Journey on the JanSamarth Portal, which brings together 14 credit-linked government schemes on one online platform.

This digital platform allows entrepreneurs to compare offers and apply for credit seamlessly, supporting the government's vision of empowering startups towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
For the firm, the $1.6-billion position, as of Wednesday’s share price, is over twice the size of Peak XV’s $695-million Fund VI, from which the Series A investment in Groww was made in 2018. Peak XV managing director Ashish Agrawal, who led the investment, won the Midas Touch prize for Best Investor at The Economic Times Startup Awards this year.
