Actor Aly Goni starts his day with a routine that includes a cup of coffee mixed with Shilajit (a natural resin), followed by a high-protein, high-fat breakfast of avocado and boiled eggs, alongside supplements. However, Chief Dietitian Dt Amreen Sheikh advises that mixing coffee with shilajit every morning is not strongly supported by nutrition science and may not provide any added benefits beyond the caffeine itself. While shilajit has adaptogenic properties and trace minerals that aid energy, combining it with the stimulant coffee may irritate the stomach or increase acidity in some individuals. Sheikh cautions that this mix is not safe for everyone, especially those with acidity, high blood pressure, anxiety, or irregular heart rhythms, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid shilajit entirely. For general wellness, the safer way to consume shilajit is a pea-sized amount mixed in warm water or milk, limited in intake, and kept separate from stimulants like coffee. Dietary choices should always be personalized and professional advice should be sought before adopting such a daily habit.
