‘Bahut kadwa hai’: Dilip and Farah Khan taste Baba Ramdev’s ‘anti-ageing ATM’ dish made with ‘gaay ka ghee’; dietitian breaks down the ingredients

Filmmaker Farah Khan's visit to Baba Ramdev's aashram highlighted a healthy "ATM" recipe made from aloe vera, turmeric, and sprouted fenugreek (methi), which Ramdev claims has anti-aging properties. According to consultant dietitian Garima Goyal, while each ingredient has individual health benefits—aloe vera aids digestion, turmeric is a strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, and sprouted methi helps with blood sugar and digestion—combining them doesn't necessarily multiply their effects. Goyal states that while the ingredients contain antioxidants that can help reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, two factors in premature aging, they cannot stop or reverse the aging process. The bitterness of the dish may also discourage regular consumption, and it should not be viewed as a substitute for medical treatment. Instead, using these ingredients in a balanced, sustainable diet is a more effective approach.
