The Karnataka cabinet has given in-principle approval for a ₹2,350-crore international cricket stadium in Suryanagar, Anekal, on Bengaluru’s outskirts. The stadium, spread across 75 acres of Karnataka Housing Board land, will feature modern facilities and seating for 80,000 spectators. The government aims to create a world-class venue for international cricket and other large-scale events. Before finalising the project, a detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared to assess the full scope, cost, and technical requirements. The initiative signals Karnataka’s ambition to develop top-tier sports infrastructure in South India. (IMAGE CREDIT: AI)
