BNP secured nearly 50% votes while Jamaat received 31% in Bangladesh general election

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) secured a decisive victory in the general elections, winning 49.97% of the votes and 209 seats. Its former ally, Jamaat-e-Islami, emerged as the main opposition with 31.76% of the votes and 68 seats. The election landscape was altered by the disqualification of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League.
