Budget 2026: Road transport allocation climbs to Rs 3.09 lakh crore for FY27

Union budget of India: The government has announced a significant boost for road infrastructure. For the fiscal year 2026-27, the road transport and highways ministry will receive Rs 3.09 lakh crore. This represents an increase of approximately 8 percent from the previous year's allocation. The National Highways Authority of India, or NHAI, will also see its funding rise to Rs 1.87 lakh crore.
