CAG flags recruitment lapses at Himachal Pradesh University, 186 EWS appointments under scanner

In a serious indictment of recruitment processes at Himachal Pradesh University, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has flagged major irregularities in appointments made under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota between 2020 and 2023. According to the audit report for the period ending March 2023, tabled in the state Assembly on March 30, as many as 186 appointments were made without proper verification of candidates’ credentials.
