Congress seeks Rajya Sabha seat from ally Vijay's TVK

Congress has asked ally TVK for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Tamil Nadu that will be filled through a bypoll in mid-June, signalling early bargaining within the newly formed alliance government led by Vijay. Senior Congress leaders recently conveyed the request to the TVK leadership, with AICC technology and data cell chief Praveen Chakravarty emerging as the partys preferred candidate.
