Finance Ministry Propels Historic Merger: Three Public Sector General Insurers To Fuse Into One Giant

In July 2020, the government dropped the idea of merging three state-owned general insurance companies into a single entity.Oriental Insurance, National Insurance, and United India Insurance are the three companies. However, as the finances have improved, the idea is being mulled over, and the finance ministry is doing a preliminary assessment of the merger to improve efficiency.
