IIT Kharagpur Seeks National Medical Council Approval To Launch First Postgraduate Medical Programme

IIT Kharagpur has applied to the National Medical Council to start a 20-seat MD programme, potentially becoming the first IIT to offer postgraduate medical education. The proposal, backed by the education ministry, awaits final approval from the health ministry. Teaching will occur at B C Roy Medical Centre and Syama Prasad Mookerjee Hospital, with NEET-based admissions.
