Meta to slash Metaverse budget by 30 per cent, shift focus to AI glasses and wearables

According to reports first published by Bloomberg, Meta executives have discussed major funding cuts within the Reality Labs division, the home of its metaverse ambitions. The reductions, expected to begin early next year, could also bring job losses across teams working on virtual and augmented reality projects.
