More than 200 people have been killed after a landslide struck the Rubaya coltan mine in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo during the rainy season, with the death toll still rising. The mine, which produces about 15% of the world’s coltan and is controlled by the AFC/M23 rebels, has been linked by the UN to funding the group’s insurgency.
