Petronet LNG declares force majeure on LNG shipments amid Strait of Hormuz disruption

Petronet LNG Ltd has issued Force Majeure notices to QatarEnergy and its Indian off-takers — GAIL (India) Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd — after vessels were unable to transit the Strait of Hormuz due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel. The company said the impact cannot be estimated yet and that acts of war are covered under its business interruption insurance.
