Physiotherapists are not doctors, can't prefix Dr, orders health regulator DGHS

The Directorate General of Health Services has directed the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions to revise the physiotherapy curriculum. This revision concerns the use of the prefix 'Dr' by physiotherapists. Doctors' associations objected to the proposed curriculum. They argued that allowing the prefix could mislead the public. The Indian Medical Association raised concerns about potential quackery.
