Public Safety Paramount: MMRDA Announces Inquiry, ₹5 Crore Penalty On Contractor And ₹1 Cr On General Consultant After Metro Line 4 Incident

MMRDA imposed penalties worth ₹6 crore after a parapet segment from the under-construction Metro Line 4 corridor fell in Mulund, killing one person and injuring three others. Authorities halted work at the stretch, launched a high-level inquiry and said medical expenses of the injured will be covered. Financial assistance to the deceased’s family will also be provided.
