RBI guv counters Trump’s ‘dead economy’ taunt: India holds bright prospects in changing world order

A day after Trump called India and Russia’s economies “dead,” RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra pushed back, saying India’s economy has “bright prospects” in the changing global order. His remarks came as the RBI kept the repo rate unchanged at 5.5 per cent, despite pressure on the rupee following Trump’s fresh tariff threats.
