Teaching children to question war and power

IN these turbulent times, it is exceedingly difficult to escape from a deeply existential and pedagogic question: As adults, are we responsible enough for sowing the seeds of a new world in which our children can grow up as integrated, sensitive and compassionate beings and live joyfully and meaningfully? Think of it. Do we have any answer if a school/college student asks us these three questions: Why did you create a world in which there is no end to war and violence? Why did you give us such a polluted world in which we cannot even breathe properly? And even though you speak of democracy, why do we repeatedly witness the absence of the art of conversation and listening among our parliamentarians?
