A recent study involving over 1,300 adults with diabetes revealed a U-shaped pattern in sleep's impact on kidney health. Both insufficient sleep (under six hours) and oversleeping (over eight hours) were linked to poorer kidney function, measured by eGFR. Aiming for approximately seven hours of quality sleep nightly emerged as crucial for supporting kidney health in individuals with diabetes.
