Two-year Central deputation as SP or DIG mandatory for IPS officers seeking IG rank at Centre: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs has revised central posting guidelines for IPS officers. Effective from the 2011 batch, officers now require a minimum of two years of central experience at the SP/DIG level or equivalent to be eligible for empanelment as Inspector General or equivalent at the Centre.
